Adorning the front of this 28 apartment residential project in St Lucia is a 16 m2 Fytowall vertical garden. This tall narrow green wall is accessed for maintenance via rope access and creates a column of green for the north facing, street frontage.

Shadowing from surrounding structures played a role in plant species selection and location in this green wall planting array. Fytogreen’s botanist was careful to ensure all species will thrive in their locations to ensure Ecological Sustainability. 480 plants cover this green wall made up of 48 species to provide biodiverse ecology and an aesthetic that is multi coloured with many leaf shapes and sizes.

Fytogreen was commissioned to install a small vertical garden using our Florafelt System in a popular historic pub in Brisbane central business district.

Set in the covered outdoor sports bar of the Victory Hotel, the vertical garden is positioned above a roofed bar serving area. Fytogreen utilized part of the roof as a catch tray for the garden and all plants are perched high up above the patrons reach, keeping them well protected.  The design utilizes 11 different species and 18 F12 Florafelt panels; some panels sizes were customise to accommodate the lower raked edge.

Built as an extension to the deck and master bedroom, this second level green roof is outer facing, framing the view across the valley of a private residence in Brisbane.

Fytogreen designed and installed the 49m2 roof garden, utilizing a plant pallet of 6 different species, and 125 plants including ground covers, sedges and native grasses.

Moreton Bay Regional Council commissioned Fytogreen to complete an extensive roof garden on the new Library in North Lakes, called The Corso Project.

It has a total of 255m2 of extensive roof gardens broken into 6 sections.

The total profile depth is 160mm with a sub-surface drip irrigation system.

Recycled brick was used as the mulch finish utilising environmentally sustainable design techniques. Fytogreens unique hydrocell extensive media has enabled excellent establishment.

Kookai – Planter Boxes

An outstanding entrance has been created for the retail clothing store, Kookai, at Pacific Fair Shopping Centre on the Gold Coast.

Fytogreen supplied and installed 13 green facade planter boxes on outside elevated positions. Using a single species, Tracheospernum Jasminoidies, the planters were pre-grown for 5 months at Fytogreen and trained to a height of approx 1.5 mtrs. Onsite, the facades were lifted into position, plumbed, then trailed once the louvre and wire rigging was installed.

Fytogreen also installed 2 external lower planters and 3 internal planters, which were planted on site, then trailed onto the wire rigging and decorative white rock was used as a mulch. All planters are on automatic irrigation with the internal planters being on a separate zoning.

A lush green outdoor Fytowall set at the entrance of a contemporary pub at Ferny Grove, Queensland.

This wall is a great example of a ecological sustainable green wall, it is well maintained, looks full and lush and it has had little to no plant replacements over its lifetime.

This Fytowall includes numerous species including Philodendron Monstera, Philodendron ‘Xanadu’, Schefflera, Nephrolepis, Neomarica and Ficus

This vertical garden creates a lush, bold entrance statement for this harbor-side residential development in Hope Island, Gold Coast, Queensland.

The outdoors and semi undercover green wall is south east facing, turning into an entrance under cover.

Fytogreen Australia has recently completed 3 stunning vertical gardens at The Botanica Apartments in South Brisbane. Fytogreen installed 2 outdoor walls on the street frontage of the apartments. The first screens the car park façade, starting at 4m above the driveway entrance, ascending to 20m above the street level. The 2nd outdoor greenwall is located on the west end of the south facing street front. The third vertical garden is indoors. Located in the main entrance, at street level, complimenting the interior design of the entrance foyer. Created with a sub tropical plant palette, 54 species have been used with 9650 plants.
