In May 2022, Fytogreen supplied 26lm of FytoArbour modules to the Launceston City Council to create multiple stunning 4.5m tall FytoTrees in Charles Street, Launceston
The design intent was to achieve greening in locations where planting is simply not possible due to underground services. (The footing is a 650mm dia pile).
The structure was designed by Geoff Farquhar-Still, and was fabricated locally and installed by a Launceston based firm. The FytoTrees are connected to the mains with internal pipework for irrigation and drainage to the adjacent rain gardens, as well as runoff from the road.
"The rain gardens also provide temporary storage during large rainfall events to take load off the stormwater system, while additionally filtering the water as it's passed through the designed medium. This provides the added benefit of water for the plants in the rain garden, which has a tank in the base to keep a set volume of water, while the rest drains away," reported Geoff.
The FytoArbour planting pallet, designed by Fytogreen, consist of 7 different species and over 110 plants, providing a stunning overhead cascading garden.
The FytoArbour system was so well received that Fytogreen supplied an additional 12 FytoArbour modules in December 2022.
