Caroma on Collins was a flagship indoor showroom for Caroma, a leading Australian bathroom and kitchen brand known for showcasing innovation and contemporary design.

Located in Alexandria, Sydney, NSW, the showroom featured a large, tranquil interior enhanced by extensive planting. Fytogreen designed and installed the indoor planter boxes in March 2018, creating a lush, immersive environment that complemented the architectural layout of the space.

The project involved the installation of 282m² of indoor planter boxes throughout the showroom, including the entrance, atrium, meeting rooms and display areas. The design incorporated indoor trees alongside cascading and climbing plant species, creating a rich indoor landscape experience.

Fytogreen installed more than 160m³ of specialised, engineered growing media, providing optimal conditions for long-term plant health. The system was supported by a remotely monitored and alarmed irrigation network, as well as a carefully designed drainage system to ensure efficient water management.

Our specialised maintenance team cared for the gardens over a five-and-a-half-year period, ensuring consistent plant performance and visual impact.

The installation remained in place until the showroom closed, with the tenancy concluding upon the expiration of the lease in November 2023.

The project was recognised with several industry awards, including the Gold Award for Architecture – Commercial – Constructed at the 2018 Sydney Design Awards, and Winner – Commercial at the 2018 Architeam Awards, highlighting the role of green infrastructure in creating high-performing and inspiring interior environments.

The indoor showroom demonstrated the transformative power of planter boxes, turning a commercial interior into a vibrant green oasis that enhanced usability, sustainability and visual appeal.
