One of the first installations of Fytogreen's innovative FC-FytoFelt Green Wall System, the Doohat Avenue Green Wall in North Sydney demonstrates the long-term success of fire-compliant vertical greening. Completed in August 2020, the project was an early adopter of the FC-FytoFelt system, showcasing how high-performance green infrastructure can be seamlessly integrated into modern residential architecture while meeting stringent Australian fire safety requirements.

Covering 57m² and extending 6 metres wide by 9.5 metres high, the vertical garden creates a striking façade that transforms the building's exterior and enhances the surrounding streetscape. Designed, installed and maintained by Fytogreen, the wall was planted with an impressive 1,216 plants across 28 species, creating a rich and diverse vertical ecosystem.

Now in 2026, more than five years after installation, the green wall continues to thrive. The mature planting has developed into a dense and vibrant living landscape that delivers year-round visual impact while supporting urban biodiversity and improving the connection between nature and the built environment. The project's continued success highlights the durability, resilience and performance of the FC-FytoFelt system, proving that well-designed and properly maintained green walls can flourish for many years.

The Doohat Avenue Green Wall remains a benchmark project for sustainable vertical greening in Australia, demonstrating how fire-compliant living wall systems can enhance building aesthetics, contribute to healthier urban environments and deliver long-term environmental benefits
