OneFourFive Clarendon, located in Southbank VIC, is a prime example of integrating green infrastructure into modern urban design.

This green infrastructure, completed in May 2023, showcases the innovative use of planters to enhance sustainability and aesthetics in urban spaces. The project was a collaborative effort involving Macbuild Australia as the client, Architectus as the architect, Tract as the landscape architect, and Salta Properties Australia as the project builder. Fytogreen was responsible for the design, installation, and maintenance of the green infrastructure elements.

A variety of planters strategically placed in the outdoor terrace, lobby, and internal stairwell, not only contribute to the building's aesthetic appeal but also promote environmental sustainability.

The outdoor terrace and lobby feature planters covering an area of 37 square meters, housing 11 different plant species and a total of 349 plants. These planters create a modern and sustainable design, enhancing the outdoor terrace and lobby areas.

Additionally, the internal stairwell is adorned with 24 LLDPE planters, on a 30 degree slope, covering an area of 9.28 square meters, and containing 4 different plant species with a total of 66 plants. These planters add greenery to the internal stairwell, improving air quality and providing a pleasant environment for building occupants.

The green infrastructure at OneFourFive Clarendon offers numerous benefits, including improved air quality, reduced urban heat island effect, and support for biodiversity. It also enhances the well-being of occupants by providing a connection to nature and increases property value while reducing energy costs through natural insulation. This project exemplifies how sustainable design can create healthier, more livable urban spaces.
