Fytogreen was proud to be involved with this unique 304m2 roof garden, another 1st for Fytogreen’s roof garden system. The City West Campus – UniSA’s Pridham Hall roof gardens are set on various angles of 18°, 32° and 42°.

“This is one of the more complicated roof gardens that Fytogreen has completed to date” said Geoff Heard, Managing Director of Fytogreen.  With no entry point to the upper section of the gardens, we had to climb to the top to complete all work.   Set at 42° it is the steepest roof garden of its kind in Australia, that we know of”.

The roof is fitted with an ILD leak detection system, and the PVC Membrane was supplied by Wolfin. Special consideration was given to the project’s drainage system as the gardens have a 2 way fall, the box gutters were packed out and protected due to the transferred point load  from the drainage cell.  Design development in conjunction with JPE Design Studio and Mossop occurred to ensure constructibility was achieved.

Geoweb was used to support the sloping garden structure, and as a first, it was engineered with stainless steel wire to ensure the breaking strain specifications were meet.

The planting plan was designed by JPE Landscape Architect with support by Fytogreen Australia.

“There were a lot of first’s for this project, and it has proven to be extremely successful to date.” Geoff said.
